BIOGRAPHY
Charithra Chandran is a British actress known for her dynamic performances across television, film, theatre, and voice acting. She rose to international prominence as Edwina Sharma in Netflix's hit period drama Bridgerton and has since expanded her career with roles in Alex Rider, HBO's Dune: Prophecy, and Netflix's live-action adaptation of ONE PIECE.
Chandran began her professional acting career with a role as Sabina Pleasance in the second season of Amazon's spy thriller Alex Rider. Based on Anthony Horowitz's bestselling novels, the series introduced Chandran to a global television audience and showcased her ability to bring intelligence and emotional depth to an action-driven role. Before becoming a full-time actress, Chandran studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford, where she also participated in theatre and became involved with the National Youth Theatre.
Her major breakthrough came in 2022 when she joined the cast of Netflix's Bridgerton as Edwina Sharma, the younger sister of Kate Sharma. At the center of the show's second season's complicated romantic storyline, Edwina is introduced as a poised and accomplished young woman entering London's high society in search of a suitable match. Chandran's performance earned widespread attention and established her as one of the series' standout new stars.
Chandran subsequently expanded her work across different genres and mediums. She made her West End debut in Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon and appeared in the romantic comedy How to Date Billy Walsh. In 2024, she joined HBO's science-fiction series Dune: Prophecy, portraying Young Francesca, a younger version of the character played by acclaimed Indian actress Tabu.
In 2026, Chandran entered another globally beloved franchise with her role in the second season of Netflix's live-action ONE PIECE. She portrays Miss Wednesday, a skilled fighter and strategist working as an agent of Baroque Works, who is ultimately revealed to be Nefertari Vivi, the princess of Alabasta. Chandran's performance allows her to explore two contrasting sides of the character: the calculating and formidable Miss Wednesday and the compassionate, determined Vivi. Her arrival in the series adds a new dimension to the Straw Hat Pirates' journey as the story moves toward the Alabasta storyline.
