Favourite character to draw?
I'd have to say the Star-Faced Man. It’s a good opportunity to experiment with mixed media and approach it in any manner of art style.
Biggest artistic influences?
So many influences to choose from, but the biggest influences would have to be - Bill Sienkiewicz, Dave McKean, Kent Williams, Jon J Muth, George Pratt, Sergio Toppi, Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Coby Whitmore, and Ralph Steadman.
Favourite convention snack?
Tea and biscuits.
BIOGRAPHY
Martin Simmonds is an Eisner Award winning comic artist, and co-creator of The Department of Truth/Dracula (with James Tynion IV) for Image Comics, Phantom of the Opera (With Tyler Boss), Dying is Easy (with Joe Hill) for IDW.
Martin is also a cover artist, with his work regularly appearing on titles from Marvel, DC, Image, Boom!, Vault, and IDW.
