FUN FACTS! 

1. David got his start professionally acting on Broadway in the 1999 remake of The Rainmaker

2. The Sheriff's hat from Stranger Things was introduced by David himself, who felt the character's tendency to "hide himself" really suited it.

3. While he grew up playing video games & Dungeons & Dragons, David had to pretend like he didn't understand any of the references the kids made while filming Stranger Things, which annoyed him!

4. For his role as Jim Hopper, David was nominated both for a Golden Globe for the Best Performance by an Actor in a supporting Role in a Series, and for an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Biography

David can currently be seen in Universal’s holiday action feature VIOLENT NIGHT, directed by Tommy Wirkola and produced by David Leitch and 87 north.

He has most recently wrapped production on Sony's GRAN TURISMO, directed by Neill Blomkamp and starring alongside Orlando Bloom. He can be seen starring as ‘Red Guardian’ opposite Scarlett Johansson in Marvel’s BLACK WIDOW, directed by Cate Shortland.

David received stellar reviews for his performance as the super-soldier turned hero in the Disney franchise. He will reprise this role in the upcoming Marvel feature THE THUNDERBOLTS, where he will star alongside Florence Pugh, Harrison Ford, and Julia Louis Dreyfus. He also appeared in Steven Soderbergh’s NO SUDDEN MOVE, in which he stars as the lead alongside Benicio Del Toro, Don Cheadle, Matt Damon, and Jon Hamm.  He will soon be able to be seen in Netflix’s WE HAVE A GHOST, opposite Anthony Mackie and Jennifer Coolidge. The movie is set to premiere in 2024.
